What jewelry you should choose for your face shape?

Your Ad Here

Oval Shaped Face

If you have an oval face, you will look good in just about any jewelry style or length you like. A choker will emphasize a long neck; a long strand of pearls will lengthen your torso, or a low dangling necklace will look great with a low cut neckline.

Triangle shaped earrings will look great with an oval face. Look for dangling earrings that are not too long, long earrings will add length to your face and make it look longer.Different shapes will ook good in contrast to the oval face shape.

Round Shaped Face

If you have a round face you want to look for necklaces that will elongate the look of your face. Long necklaces will give the illusion of length. Wear necklaces that focus well below your neckline. A necklace with one strong focal element a little above the bust line will look great on you. Almost all earring types look good on this face shape. You might want to try for angular shapes such as squares or rectangles, these will take away from the round shape of your face.

Heart Shaped Face

This face shape is also referred to as a triangle, and because of the sharp angle of the chin, a choker is the best way to go. If you like the look of a longer necklace consider getting a long wrap necklace.Dangling earrings will be a good choice for you. Shop for earrings that dangle into a triangular shape to even out and add length to your face.

Rectangle Shaped Face

This face shape is better described as an oblong. A choker is a good option for people with this face shape, especially if you also have a long neck. Look for bold necklaces in the 16" length. Another option for this face shape is a rounded longer necklace. Look for a necklace or pendant that has a round shape.Keep Earrings short and bold, and color will look great on you.

Gem Stone for Healing & Spirituality

Your Ad Here
Gems have been used throughout history for healing and spiritual needs. Although gems exhibit great beauty, the reason they are also so precious is due to the power they impart to their wearers.
Throughout history great Kings and queens would have gemstones set in their crowns to obtain their potencies. They connected the monarchs with forces enabling them to rule guided by cosmic energies. Priests of different religions used gems in rings for similar reasons. Gems exhibit their power in a beneficial or detrimental way – depending on how they are used. This it is important we use them in teh correct way.
The inherent powers of gemstones are recognized by modern science in the technological uses of crystals in watches, lasers, and computers, but the more subtle potencies, such as their ability to promote physical healing in the body, or their power to help balance human emotions, elude modern science.
1) All stones or gems have magnetic powers in varying degrees, and many of them are beneficial to us for their therapeutic cures.
2) They emit vibrations and frequencies which have strong potential influence on our whole being.
3) They create strong energy fields which enable us to be charged with their energies.
4) The gems are used for healing, transforming, balancing, and attuning the body, mind and soul.
5) They are a manifestation of vibrancy, light and color, life, textures, transparency and clarity.
6) They activate our abilities, soothe and comfort, heal and balance through the purity of their rays.
7) The patterns in the stones reveal to us the changes that keep taking place, indicating that life is change – that the process of evolution is a cosmic law.
8) Each gem, tuned to a particular ray, has a special role to play.
9) The gems can be cleaned by leaving them under running water for six to eight hours. Or, bury them in some earth overnight, and rinse them off. Or, keep the stone in the flame of a candle until the candle melts. Or still, place the stone amongst a heap of quartz for several days, whereby its energy is revived from the contact of the quartz.
10) The gem that is cleaned should be placed in direct sunlight, for the sun is a great source of energy and purification.
11) The more precious stones that you wear, the more strongly will you be charged with cosmic forces, radiating out into your surroundings.
12) Wear your stones – Do not store them in a safe or jewelry box, for you will be depriving your body of their tremendous power.
13) Precious stones have a way of healing emotions that have been inharmonious.
14) The stones selected for use should always be in contact with one’s body to absorb their healing properties.

Tips For Jewellery Care

Care for your Gold jewellery
  • Avoid sleeping with your jewellery on, especially fine chains and bracelets.
  • Periodically wash jewellery pieces in warm soapy water or take it to your jeweller for a routine clean-up
  • Avoid heat and hot water on jewellery as they can loosen the settings.
  • Avoid strong smelling foods to prevent tarnishing on gold jewellery
  • Avoid wearing too many chains together as they can scratch each other and spoil the piece

  • Care for your Silver jewellery
    • Silver is best stored in a cool, dry semi dark space
    • Avoid wearing your silver jewellery when exposed to chemicals or chlorinated water
    • Do not use tissue to clean silver as it can leave scratches
    • Use light soap solution to wash your silver jewellery followed by drying with a soft cloth

    Care for your Diamond jewellery

    • Diamonds are forever but they do loose their sparkle if not cleaned once in a while. Get a professional to bring the sparkle back to the diamond
    • Soak the diamond jewellery in warm soapy water for some time, run a soft brush over it and rinse it thoroughly to remove the grease
    • Diamonds chip the most when they strike against other diamonds, so try not to wear too many diamond rings close together or to store diamonds close together without covering them individually
    • Diamond regularly worn can get loose in its setting. Take most worn diamonds at least every year to the jeweller to see if the prongs are loose. Diamonds are precious; it is worthwhile to care for it.

    Care for your Pearl jewellery

    • Put on the pearls after applying make-up, perfume and hairspray
    • Wipe your pearls with a soft, damp cloth every time you remove them after wearing
    • Store your pearl jewellery in a silk or velvet-lined box, separated from hard jewellery, to prevent them from getting scratched.
    • Take your pearls to the jeweller for re-stringing about once a year to prevent strand breakage
    • Keep your pearls happy by wearing them often. Contact with your skin will rehydrate them and help them to retain their natural beauty.

    Jewellery Shopping at Parties

"Home Parties offer a comfortable environment for jewellery shopping"

Those involved in the industry say the development of such parties are the root for the increased trend toward female self-purchasers and women's desire to socialize despite hectic schedules. Parties are a nice way to combine shopping with a social life.

In parties people don't feel obligated to buy, however they usually do.Women can try on the jewelry with their friends, and it gives them a great time out.

If you’re thinking of getting in on the party, here are a few tips to help get you started:

    * Market to clients you already know: Suggest a jewelry home-party to a
new bride looking for something to share with her bridesmaids, or to a
female client you know has an active social circle.

    * Keep inventory big, parties small: Part of the appeal of home-parties
is the ability for clients to try on jewelry in the comfort of their home,
minus feeling the pressure to buy. Keep parties small enough that everyone
can handle the jewelry without creating security issues.

    * Build on your brand: Use jewelry parties as an opportunity to promote
your brand. Bring stylish displays and boxes for purchases, and make sure
everyone goes home with a catalog.

    * Give it time: Don’t be discouraged by a slow start. As with any new
business venture, it may take time for the idea to catch on with consumers..

Gemstone Setting Types : Closed and Open Settings

Gemstone Setting Types : Closed and Open Settings

There are two basic types of gemstone settings: open settings and closed settings. Open settings are any type of setting that allows light to enter through the bottom of a faceted or transparent cabochon gemstone.

In a "closed setting" light can only enter the stone from the top. This type of setting is appropriate for opaque cabochon-cut stones and highly refractive faceted stones where light can enter through the crown and table of the stone and be reflected back to the observer from within.

    Open Gem Setting Types

    Prong Settings

Within the category of "open settings" there are several variations. The most common variety for faceted gemstones is a prong setting (below, left), with either 3 or 4 prongs that hold the stone in place. This type of setting exposes the maximum amount of light to the sides and bottom.

    Carré setting

A Carré setting is where the stone is seated directly over a light well (above, right), and the stone is set by raising (hammering) four "spurs" with a "graver" tool.

    Tension Settings

A "tension setting" uses the metal's natural tendency to "spring" back to its original position to hold the stone in place. The metal is spread apart, and the girdle of the stone is seated into small grooves in the inside surface of the metal. This type of setting requires special alloys of metal that are strong enough to create and withstand the necessary pressure to hold the stone firmly. Tension settings are only appropriate for very hard stones (Hardness of 9 to 10: diamond, ruby, sapphire, cz or moissanite).

    Frustum Settings

A Frustum, or "Hollow Cone" setting is a conical or tapered setting constructed from sheet metal. The stone's pavilion rests against the inside of the cone and the outer edge of the cone's lip is bet over the girdle to secure the stone. A frustum setting can be open or closed.

    Closed Gem Setting Types

Variations of the closed setting are the "bezel” setting, channel setting, cluster setting, Kundan setting, frustum setting, Pavé, and the seamless tube setting.

    Bezel Settings

The oldest and most basic gemstone setting is the "Bezel". Used primarily to set cabochons, a vertical strip of metal is formed to encircle the stone, then soldered to a metal base. The stone is secured by pushing and bending the bezel towards the stone using a burnishing tool.

    Channel settings

Channel settings are primarily used to set faceted gemstones that are straight-sided, or quadrilateral in shape (baguette or princess cut). The stones are aligned in a channel, sitting girdle-to-girdle. step-cut stones can rest on a track giving a "keystone" effect. Matching stones that are cut to a uniform size for use in channel settings are called "calibré-cut," as in "Eternity Rings."

    Pavé Settings

A Pavé Setting is a tight grouping of identically sized stones laid across a flat, or convex surface, from the French word for "paved." The stones are held in place using three to six raised beads per stone.
